Cleaning of Red Soil from Carpet

Today was a Rochedale Estates carpet cleaning job. We are based in Rochedale South so this area is very close to us. Removing red soil marks that had been walked in from an outside area. These spots are reasonably easy to remove if treated in the correct way.

We have cleaned a number of houses in this estate. This area has some red soil though it is not as widespread as in the Redlands area. The soil is an iron oxide soil. It can actually stain carpets quite badly. Also it can be difficult to remove if left for any length of time. So regular cleaning of carpets in these areas is highly recommended.

 

 

Firstly a thorough vacuuming is needed. This will remove any excess soiling from the carpet fiber. In normal circumstances Hot water Extraction cleaning with a good quality carpet cleaning detergent will suffice. Also there are some others ways to remove red soil spots from carpet. These include using spotters that will remove the iron oxide causing the staining. These stains are very similar to rust stains from metal furniture left on carpet whilst damp.

 

 

This carpet cleaned up really nicely.
