The below images were a recent Saturday morning red wine stain removal job. This stain was on a wool carpet and the carpet was of considerable age. Also the red wine stain had not been touched for 5 days before we attended to it. Firstly the best course of action straight after the spill such as this is always liberally apply salt or talcum powder to the stain. Red wine will often absorb out quite well. Leave the absorbent powder overnight and vacuum the next morning. For any residual staining, sponging the next day with clean warm (not hot) water is the best step. Firstly, this stain has been extracted with clean water to remove the excess Red Wine.
