Cleaning of Microfiber Upholstered Furniture
Firstly, a little about the material and why Microfiber furniture cleaning is so successful. Microfiber is made with synthetic fibers such as polyester or polyamides. These fibers are finer than silk, and they are able to be knitted or woven into a fabric. Because the fibers are so small, the weaves are able to be much tighter. This has two advantages. First, less dust or other allergens can sink into and through the fabric, making your furniture more hypoallergenic. Secondly, the tight weave means liquid spills will bead up on the surface of the fabric instead of immediately soaking into the fibers, which gives you a short window of time to dry up the liquid before it stains. This really helps when it comes to cleaning.
Microfiber furniture cleaning
Microfiber is durable and water-resistant. This makes it ideal for well-used furniture and homes with kids and pets. These properties also make it a great material to clean. Owners of Microfiber fabrics often find it easy to remove stains. For the most part a wipe over with a damp cloth will suffice. When it comes to professional cleaning the material cleans very well. We have been cleaning upholstered furniture for many years and find this a great material to clean.
The Lounge Suite above is Microsuede. Microsuede is a type of microfiber. Most microfiber weaves feel particularly smooth and soft, but microsuede has a raised texture of suede. Even though the look and quality of microsuede isn’t exactly the same as suede, it can be very similar. However, the easy-care advantage of microsuede may more than make up for any visual differences. This material cleans really well also.
Care of Microfiber
Microfiber is highly water resistant. However it’s not completely immune to stains. The tight weave of microfiber causes any liquids to bead up and sit on the surface of the fiber for a short time instead of soaking right into the fabric. If you can clean up the liquid before it soaks into the fabric, it will be as if nothing ever spilled on your furniture. We have available our Upholstery Cleaner that will help you as well. A Professional stain retardant treatment is also a good idea. This treatment can be applied by us after cleaning. The drying time of this material after cleaning is also quite quick.
Remember, your prompt attention to stains makes a difference.
