Always something different

Couch cleaning, sometimes things can get a little weird. The story of the snake on the couch is amusing. I arrived and the customer showed me the couch cleaning job I was to undertake. For a better look, I moved one of the scatter cushions to see the sight below. A 4 or 5 foot carpet snake. My first thought was it wasn’t real and that someone was playing a joke with a plastic snake. Then it dawned on me that the snake was indeed very real. My next thought was that the customer had a pet snake. But no, I could tell this also wasn’t correct quite quickly, as the customer ran off to the other end of the house and hid in the laundry.

Removing the snake

Following the customer to the laundry I inquired whether I could use a broom to remove said snake and do my cleaning job. Carefully removing the snake with the broom handle and placing it outside under a tree was a simple enough exercise. Then it was onto cleaning the couch which came up very well. So we had a happy customer, a happy snake and a nice little story for me.

 

 

Couch cleaning critters, Possums and birds

The below chairs are what happens when a possum gets down a chimney and runs amok inside a house. Possum paw prints all over two nice pink occasional chairs. These sort of stains need to be attended to in a timely manner if possible. Especially if the chairs are covered in cotton. Prompt removal will ensure a good result as can be seen from the photos below. I have done similar work when birds get down a chimney as well. Birds will fly all around bumping into everything including walls, ceilings and furniture. And make quite a mess. These sort of things are quite fixable. But don’t leave it too long.
